#WednesdayWisdom #ThankYouAlabama #ThankyouAllred *EDITED*

Will have to watch Hannity tonight for his take on the special election in Alabama.

I wouldn’t be up except for the fact that I had to call the ambulance tonight and have husband go to the ER at a local hospital. He had a pacemaker implanted just a few days ago and for some reason(unbeknownst so far)it swelled up to the size of a baseball and hurt like the dickens.I called the surgeon that put it  in and he said to have him go over pronto. They want to keep him overnight for observation. Now that I think of it noticed how the skin was a little red around the area. If that’s not enough I had a ‘drop attack’ from meniere’s yesterday.I didn’t see that coming either. It has been a truly fun week.

Anyway,I’m up because I can’t sleep and will probably catch a nap later on today. Meantime i watched the returns on the Alabama Special election and have been reading a lot of the Twitter comments re same. We’re all trying to figure it out.Pres Trump sent a congratulatory tweet to Doug Jones. He was the Democrat running against Moore. At one point in the race Roy Moore had a substantial lead over his opponent;that is until the allegations came out.He got beat tonight. I understand Moore is going to contest the results. If he questions the results it’s his prerogative to request a recount.

The allegations were horrible & were meant to take him out or do damage.Think they worked?

Maybe Mo Brooks or Luther Strange would have beat Doug Jones.{ If only Strange had stayed away from Mitch McConnell.}Roy is not a bad guy but he wouldn’t have been my first choice. I got behind him though, knowing how important the Alabama race was-evidently some people just didn’t see it that way. They stayed home.Would i have voted for Moore given the allegations lodged against him? Definitely. Did i believe them?  They were suspect and for that reason alone I would have had no qualms voting for Moore. I’ll tell you what I do believe with 100% certainty and that is in due process.I do not subscribe to mob rule and jury by a television audience.

I’m not prepared to blame Steve Bannon. He knocked himself silly for Moore.I’ll admit to my own admiration of Bannon though;meaning that might be biased.

Posted on Twitter.A good reminder.I either didn’t know or had forgotten.

Trump backed Luther Strange.I thought Strange was a good candidate and then McConnell got involved. Not a good move. There was a 3rd candidate in the primary,Mo Brooks. He lost out to Moore. He would have been my choice. There were several conservatives that thought highly of “Mo”. Our loyalties were all over the map-Strange,Brooks and Moore- but any one of those ppl would have been better than Doug Jones. Maybe people began to doubt Moore’s denials of the allegations. If you can get ppl to question and doubt they’re not going to vote for that person. They probably figured Doug Jones wasn’t all that bad.He is and a bag of chips. Some people solved the dilemma by just staying home and not voting at all.

I KNOW that affected the outcome of the race.Always does and seldom for the better.I can’t think of an instance where sitting out the vote got the candidate you wanted. Maybe they didn’t care.I don’t dislike Moore-I’m just ambivalent.I was afraid he might not beat Jones. I stood up for him though. He didn’t deserve to be the target of false allegations or the treatment he was given by the GOPe. I would have voted for him over Jones any day and definitely not wasted a vote on a write in candidate that didn’t have a prayer.I never stay home-these races are usually too consequential to skip the vote.

On the bright side it was  1 race and Jones only gets the seat for 2 yrs. We’re going to have to move along here soon and get ready for 2018.If Moore gets the recount he requested we’ll have to see how that pans out.Personally,I’d prefer we just lost graciously but Moore’s a fighter and it’s his right.I won’t fault him for it.We have a tax cut and reform bill to pressure Congress to pass. Once Jones is seated it’s going to be very difficult-if not impossible-to get the Trump agenda through. You think it was hard now, wait till we’re short that one seat.We have to get done what we can while we can. The tax cut and reform bill is HUGE.

Know this;the Dems play dirty. When you think they couldn’t sink any lower, they do.I just wish the folks could see through the garbage.  Anyone who couldn’t see that after 30 yrs an allegation suddenly appears, just days before an election as someone is 10 points higher than the opponent, as  a dirty trick[they]might be a little on the naive side or gullible. I’m not even 100% sure it was a Democrat trick. It could have been GOPe behind it.It’s even likely it was perpetrated by the Democrats with a hands off by the GOPe-let the other party do the dirty work for you?It doesn’t matter who did it as this point;the outcome is the same.

They count on the gullible. The race is over.Moore lost.Time for the accusers to vanish and Allred to crawl back under her rock. Could we wise up now? Trust me,you won’t hear a peep from the accusers now. They slink off into the sunset;the good reputation of another person destroyed. You have just been played.

We can blame Moore,Bannon,McConnell, whoever we like but the bottom line is that it was the false witness of the accusers and the gullible electorate who fell for it.If it didn’t work, they wouldn’t try it.The GOPe bailed on Moore, just like they bailed on our current President when he was the nominee. Whether Moore would have won or not is irrelevant on this one point.Back the candidate win or lose. You don’t help the opposition.

Keep in mind, Alabama, that the Democrat you elected thinks most of you are a bunch of backward religious racist hicks who don’t have the sense to come in out of the rain. He’ll be a fine puppet for Pelosi,Schumer and Soros. You can HOPE he’ll work with the President.

*EDITED* Before we all go crazy and start finger pointing let’s size up the defeat.@WayneDupreeShow

take it to the bank!! He’s right.

Two warnings in 1 night.

Qualifier;I was personally more impressed with Mo Brooks than the other 3 candidates,Moore,Strange and Jones.I think Brooks could have easily beat Jones but I am not an Alabaman and it wasn’t my call.Luther might have been a better choice than we thought;unfortunately “Mitch” got his hands on that campaign. At that point Luther was toast.Anyway,it is,what it is,right?

Let’s recall first how, just a few weeks ago, Moore had a very comfortable lead over Jones. The lead was so good, had the election taken place then Moore could have won easily. It was just at that time [and 30 days out from the election] that the allegations about Moore surfaced.Gloria Allred came out to represent the ladies who accused Moore of sexual misconduct. I bet you dimes to dollars they will now vanish.

The women who are accusing Pres Trump will vanish. We’ve seen the movie before. We know the Dems play dirty.

WATCH

I think those allegations were the biggest contributing factor to Moore’s loss, especially since it looked like Moore was poised to win.You couldn’t pick a better time to drop them  on Moore. It’s the same thing they did to Herman Cain.He was getting up there in the polls.  I was thrilled that he stood a good chance of winning the primary when they dropped the allegations on him.He dropped out. They probably expected Moore to do the same thing-at the least, cause damage. It did and it really caused damage the day of the special election. All they had to do was cast doubt in the minds of enough people. It obviously worked.

It always works because it will always cause doubt. It wasn’t the only factor but it was major.

Main lesson for Republicans is to pick someone who can win. It doesn’t have to mean giving up principles. It means picking a candidate capable of winning. The good news is that this is only a 2 yr term and the seat will be up for grabs again.

The bad news is-which i would have thought Alabamans would have considered-Trump better get his agenda through before Jones is seated;they can’t get the votes now let alone when they lose the 1 vote they really needed to make up for it.The Republicans are going to have to fight like hell in 2018 and get the candidates the Pres will need for his agenda. For now, once the tax plan gets through [assuming it does] that’s the end of the road.We will have to be patient and consider the wall, infrastructure, immigration reform, his many appointments [that are left]et.al \ down the road some.

The other bad news is that the opposition will now know that bringing up these kinds of allegations have the desired effect and they’re going to go for scorched earth.Unless ALL the folks are sharp enough to see through it, candidates will fall like dominoes.I was SURE the folks of Alabama would be able to figure it out.BTW.Allred and Moore’s accusers will now ride off into the sunset.Mark my words.Mission accomplished. If you’re one of the people who thought Moore might have done what he was accused of,you were duped.

Bannon’s a great guy.He fought like hell for Moore. He did what he could but it’s a tough battle when it comes to the kind of allegations they were throwing at Moore. The only thing you have going for you are the people sharp enough to know better-but if there’s enough people in doubt you’re probably doomed. On the upside, there’s no reason for Al Franken to hang around. The jury is out.

McConnell is another matter.I’m in no shape to go there just yet.Needless to say the best thing he could do is step down and get replaced.Ditto the Speaker, weak kneed  formerly (?)Never Trump Ryan. It’s altogether possible the Moore loss will give the Dems the green light and ego boost they need\ to really go after Trump; boosted by the Ala win they will have no reason to stop at 1 Senate seat .A Senate seat that is going to  help them in their cause.Their cause is to damage, if not destroy,or impeach the President. They would prefer the latter. If anything will fire them up in 2018, that alone will.We will be ready when the time comes. It won’t happen again.

One other factor played a role here.Confusion. First Trump backed Strange and then he had to switch gears to back Moore. McConnell flat out opposed Moore.Shelby ran for the hills. The people were even admonished to write in a 3rd candidate. The Democrats had their ducks in a row knowing what was at stake and were  prepared to do anything to win it. It didn’t hurt them that they had help from McConnell and Shelby.

What to do now? Take a breather and get ready to do battle. We still have to back Trump on the Tax Cut and Reform Bill. I just can’t get over Alabamans would do this, but there ya have it.Sometimes in life when one door shuts, another opens. We have to keep on. Remind ourselves Jones only gets 2 yrs.Trump gets 8.

SMILE PEOPLE. Let’s show up the Dems and accept the loss graciously. It’s a set back but it’s not Armageddon either.Let them have the temper tantrums and get em a pacifier.

Bye now Al Franken. You’re done too.He has to go.Hold his feet to the fire.He said he was going to resign.

No,McConnell doesn’t have to seat Jones as requested by ‘Pocohantas.’ They’ll be upset too. Know what I say? Who cares. We don’t owe the Dems a darned thing.

One question;what was it about Mo Brooks that he didn’t garner the support Moore did?Curious.

#MAGAON Trump is still President & he will eventually be exonerated from the special counsel investigation.
